North Carolina State Route 2 is a road that goes from US 15, US 501, and NC-211 in Pinehurst to US 1 in Southern Pines. The route connects the two localities.

The Route Path:
NC-2 begins at a roundabout with US 15/501 and NC-211, heading northeast from here. Almost immediately after beginning, the route has an intersection with Airport Road and curves to the east. From here, NC-2 passes by numerous houses as a 4-lane divided road as it continues east from Pinehurst.
After an intersection with PeeDee Road, the route passes by multiple golf courses before reaching a roundabout with NC-22. Just after this roundabout, NC-2 curves southeast as it reaches its eastern end at an interchange with US 1 north of downtown Southern Pines.
