The Route Path:
NC-208 starts at the NC/TN State Line as a continuation of TN-70. The route heads east into the state, curving northeast right before diving southeast. NC-208 descends, curving a few times before eventually reaching the unincorporated community of Allenstand.
Here, the route passes by almost nothing and flattens out, before curving southwest as it leaves the community. Shortly after, NC-208 heads southeast again as it slowly descends the mountains a second time, passing by Franklin Mountain Road. Right after this, the route passes through Brigman Hollow. At this point, NC-208 is going down faster, passing by a few houses occasionally.
After about 1.3 miles, the route reaches an intersection with the southern end of NC-212. At the intersection, NC-208 turns southwest, immediately crossing the Sheldon Laurel Creek and intersecting Gunter Town Road. After this, the route curves south, following the creek before eventually curving southwest followed by northwest, still with the creek.
NC-208 sharply curves west as it continues to follow the creek, before shooting back south. Shortly after, the route crosses the Big Laurel Creek as the Sheldon Laurel Creek meets it, and NC-208 curves west again. Eventually, the route heads south yet again, following the Big Laurel Creek, and soon after, NC-208 reaches its southern end at an intersection with US 25/US 70 in a rural area, east of Hot Springs..
My Experiences:
I have never been on NC-208 or anywhere close to it.
