NC-2

 North Carolina State Route 2 is a road that goes from US 15, US 501, and NC-211 in Pinehurst to US 1 in Southern Pines. The route connects the two localities.

Interstate 42 is a mostly-future interstate that is planned to go from I-40/NC-540 west of Clayton to US 70 north of Beaufort and northeast of Morehead City. 

As of September 27, 2024, the interstate only has two segments completed; the western one from the planned west end at I-40/NC-540, to US 70 southeast of Clayton. The eastern segment uses the entirety of the Goldsboro Bypass, from US 70 west of Goldsboro, back to US 70 west of La Grange.

North Carolina State Route 208 is a road that goes from TN-70 at the NC/TN State Line to US 25/US 70 east of Hot Springs. The route is part of the main connection between Greeneville, TN and Asheville, NC.

 North Carolina State Route 148 is a road that goes from US 70 in Falling Creek to NC-11 southwest of Grifton. The route serves as a bypass of Kinston, and is a freeway for a big portion of its route.
