The Route Path:
NC-168 starts at the North Carolina/Virginia State Line at VA-168. The route heads south through the northern part of the CDP of Moyock, reaching the central part of the CDP shortly after. In Moyock, NC-168 curves southeast before going back through rural areas. Eventually, the route runs along the CDP border, before fully leaving Moyock.
NC-168 continues southeast, slowly curving more eastward, before eventually reaching the community of Sligo. Here, the route has an intersection with NC-34, and heads east. Eventually, NC-168 reaches the community of Currituck. In the community, the route intersects the southern end of NC-615, which connects to Knotts Island, and NC-168 curves back south.
Eventually, the route leaves Currituck and enters the community of Maple, where it intersects SR-1246. NC-168 continues southeast from the intersection, before eventually leaving Maple and entering the community of Barco. Shortly after entering Barco, the route reaches its southern terminus at an intersection with US 158.
My Experiences:
I have never been on NC-168, but I would love to clinch it one day on a trip to the Outer Banks.
